From Kathmandu airport, you will reach Annapurna Base Camp in 45 minutes. You will be given 15 to 30 minutes at base camp to explore around and take some great pictures. If you stay more than that the chances of high altitude sickness can be triggered. You will begin your flight from Kathmandu airport and your heli-tour will conclude at the same place.
• Annapurna Base Camp to Kathmandu
Most clients generally prefer to do the Annapurna Base Camp helitour from Pokhara due to the cost. It’s obvious that the cost would be higher from Kathmandu. But some even prefer it that way to enjoy more of the mountain landscapes that are also viewed from Kathmandu to ABC.
Note: Spending fifteen minutes at the Annapurna base camp will prevent us from getting altitude sickness. Perhaps, we can go as far as 30 minutes by the clock. It wouldn’t be safe to go beyond that.

ABC Helicopter Landing Tour in Different Seasons…The best time for the air tour:
We operate our Annapurna Base Camp Helicopter tours throughout the year. The only thing that the helicopter tour has concerns with is the ‘weather’. In case of good weather, the helicopter can fly safely at any time of the year.
Autumn
During autumn, clarity in the atmosphere is the best. The sparkling blue Skies are clean with deep blue colors. If you are flying to Annapurna Base Camp in a Helicopter in autumn you will have an astounding time.
You will see the stunning Himalayas so close, so real, and so charismatic! Along with the Himalayan vistas, you will see some paramount aerial views of the Annapurna region. The air is transparent & crystal clear; you can even single out houses that you want to particularly view. Autumn is surely an excellent safe time to fly to Annapurna base camp.
Spring
Spring is a beautiful season with dramatic fluffy clouds hovering in the sky. During this season, the sky is blue and clear. Nature is simply beautiful at this particular time. You will see colorful hills as you look down from the helicopter. You will also see amazing Himalayan vistas of the Annapurna Sanctuary. This is also one of the best times to do an air tour of ABC.
Summer
Summer is the hottest time. Also, summer and monsoon coincide. In general, when it’s evening, it starts to rain. At night, rains continue until the next morning. For a helicopter tour, the weather needs to be good along with the Himalayan views in the Annapurna. Hence, we can only organize helicopter tours in Annapurna during the clear mornings.
Winter
Winter is the coldest time in this region. At the base camp, it snows in winter. Also, harsh winds and heavy snowfalls can happen anytime. We do not operate our helicopter tours during bad weather. We will need to carefully monitor the weather conditions in Annapurna and will go if it is safe to. Your safety is always our concern. This is one area we never compromise on. In winter, we fly to Annapurna base camp only on clear mornings. This is a tricky time to do an air tour in the Annapurna region.
